December 20, 2009. I'm delighted to announce the operation of my pottery studio in Alpine, Utah, has been successful. Many beautiful pieces have been created by my first students this year. Even though the exterior of my studio/pottery barn is not totally completed we began classes last July. Now it is December and students will be returning in January or February, depending upon their schedules and Christmas jet-lag. Classes are still being offered in the evenings from 6:30 to 8:30, on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. We are considering adding a unique class on Monday evenings; A one time class for families as an activity who want to experience working with clay. We have also had several inquiries about after-school classes for elementary or junior high students (these classes would be limited to hand-building only; pinch, coil or slab clay pottery because muscle strength and co-ordination necessary usually develop around 16 years of age). We have 6 electric pottery wheels for those inclined to try their skill and tables for younger folks or others who simply want to mold their creations by hand. Working with the clay can be a wonderful activity. My monthly class fees remain at $100 per month for the 2 hour weekly, 8 hour monthly, classes. The family Monday night activity class would vary in cost depending upon numbers and ages of participants. For additional information or any questions call me at (801)494-9500 or 763-0144.
